Emotionally Based School Avoidance EBSA and EBSNA
Children and young people with symptomatic hypermobility, especially those who are neurodivergent, (Autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Dylexia and Tourettes/Tics) often face unique challenges that can lead to increased school absenteeism. The physical discomfort associated with hypermobility, such as joint pain and fatigue, make attending school difficult. Additionally, neurodivergent conditions may complicate their ability to cope with the demands of the school environment, leading to anxiety and stress. Without proper diagnosis and support, these factors can significantly impact their educational experience and overall well-being
